The photo went to the wrong site
Tap Change on the banner that appears after a capture, and pick the right one. If the banner has gone, open the photo and move it from there. The app files a capture to a site only when that site is within 150 metres; beyond that it asks rather than guesses.
It keeps asking me which site instead of filing on its own
That means it does not know where you are. Check that Location is allowed for BuildShot in iOS Settings, and that the job site has been created while you were standing on it — a site remembers the spot it was created at.
A photo says “device time” instead of “verified time”
The app checks the date against an outside time source so it does not depend on your phone's clock. When the phone has had no network since before the photo was taken, it cannot check, and it says so rather than pretending. Photos usually become verified on their own once the phone gets signal back. Restarting the phone before that happens is the one case that cannot be recovered.
Getting a report to a client
Open the site, tap Start a report, look at it, then Send to client. It goes out through the normal iOS share sheet, so email, Messages, WhatsApp and Files all work. The layout can be changed from the same screen and the one you pick is remembered.
Putting my business on the report
Profile tab, then the gear, then My business. Name, trade, phone, email and a logo. It prints at the top of every report.
Taking the same photo again, weeks later
Open the site, find the old photo, tap the arrow on it. The camera opens with that photo faded inside the viewfinder and tells you when you are standing in the right place. Shoot, and the pair goes into the report's before-and-after page on its own.
Where are my photos stored?
On your iPhone, inside the app. Nothing is uploaded and there is no cloud copy, which is why the app works with no signal — and why an iPhone backup matters. If the phone is lost and there is no backup, the photos are gone.
